SeaWheeze 2021 is Cancelled

We all knew it was coming. The official email reads as follows:

At lululemon, we are deeply committed to the wellbeing of our people and communities. As we continue to monitor COVID-19 and the quickly changing landscape, it is with an abundance of caution for the safety of our community that we have made the difficult decision to cancel the SeaWheeze Half Marathon and Sunset Festival 2021.

You are receiving this email because last year at the time of the lululemon SeaWheeze Half Marathon 2020 cancellation, you chose a full refund and guaranteed entry into the lululemon SeaWheeze Half Marathon 2021, provided that the event was not adjusted or cancelled due to the impact of COVID-19 and other events beyond our control.

Due to the continued increase in COVD-19 cases in Canada and the uncertainty around large-scale in person gatherings in the future, we will not be offering deferred entry into the lululemon SeaWheeze Half Marathon 2022. However, in lieu of an additional deferral, we are pleased to offer you a complimentary entry to the SeaWheeze 2021 Virtual Half Marathon and 10K. To take advantage of this offer, you will be sent an email at the launch of registration that contains a promo code, which you can apply when completing your registration for the lululemon SeaWheeze 2021 Virtual Half Marathon and 10K.

Community Carries On

We’re going to miss you on the Seawall but we’re excited that we can still run together digitally. Registered virtual participants can run their half marathon, 10K or both any time between September 18 – 26, 2021 from anywhere in the world.

One last, important thing: while we’re happy we still get to run with you, please do so safely. Always practice safe physical distancing when outside, follow the recommendations of local health experts, and adhere to the regional measures in place for where you call home.

If you have any questions, please reach out via email at

Registration for the SeaWheeze 2021 Virtual Half Marathon and 10K will be opening soon. For more details, please go to and follow along on Facebook and Twitter to stay in-the-know of how we’ll be bringing the magic of #SeaWheeze to life this year.

Keep safe and keep training,
Team SeaWheeze
