Just when I think I’m starting to break myself of the GOTTA BUY IT NOW thing with lululemon, the world has to go sell out the cashmere Vinyasa Scarf and the Black/Purple Carry Onwards Mat in the blink of an eye. I blame all of the Christmas shoppers! Good on lululemon for pulling off some old school sellouts.

Someone call me Sally Bag O’Pretzels because I’m salty about missing out. Aside from that, upload showed up again on a Monday last night; with it came some more new items that nobody would be mad at if they showed up under the tree. 🎄

Christmas is a week from tomorrow. Freaking out yet???

5 Faves & a Dud: Ho Ho Oh No Time is Running Out

Favorite #1: Here for Serenity Sweater ($138) in Black/White/Silver Drop

It’s different, in a good way. A little bit mod, and just enough “jazz” for my solid/striped uniform. Half of me is like hmmm I should wait for WMTM because I don’t think everyone will love it, the other half of me is like BUY IT NOW FOMO IS REAL. Thoughts?

Favorite #2: Always Aligned Bra ($68) in Black

I may just do something called “do not pass go do not collect $200” on the way home from the airport this afternoon, and spend $68 instead. It’s flattering, it’s Nulu, and we all could benefit for having one of those in the arsenal for the coziest of snow days.

Ok since I wrote that copy, I *did* pop by the mall en route home from the airport and tried this one on. You will be happy to know that it features a shelf with a band and pads underneath, so it’s far more supportive than I originally anticipated it would be. Can confirm it’s 10/10 comfy. TTS.

Favorite #3: Runderful Long Sleeve ($88) in Spaced Out Space Dye Black White

We’ve been duped before with Dramatic Static that ended up being PRINTED *gasp* onto a white background. So, I sleuthed this one out in store too.

Pattern is woven, fit is slimmer than I anticipated (maybe I’m just fluffy from all the flying). TBH the rulu felt a bit lighter/tighter/stretchier than some of my older run tops.

Favorite #4: Energy Bra *Strappy ($58) in Black

This may be one of the first times I’ve stopped to myself and thought hmmm is lulu copying Athleta on this one? What I like is that subtle striped criss-cross set of straps on the black one.

Unsurprisingly, I hunted this bra down in store too. The band is thick and supportive like a traditional Energy, and so it was an instant yes for me when I tried it on. (FWIW the striped pattern on the accent set of straps isn’t woven, it’s painted.)

Favorite #5: Wunder Under High-Rise Tight 28″ Ray ($118) in Black

Alright, the 5th WAS the Full Day Ahead Shirt (the flannel button down) but it didn’t work for me. So now that I’ve ice skated and retail therapied myself home from the airport, time to choose another favorite to round out this week’s bunch.

Instead, let’s call up these Wunder Unders that feature a bunch of silver asymmetrical silver lines that make me think of light sabers. How appropriate, given that the latest Star Wars movie is opening this week. 🤓

Okay One More: Fast & Free Crop II ($128) in Larkspur

Shame on me for cutting that Larkspur Love Tee from last week’s list. After seeing it in person, it’s a gorgeous middle blue for winter months. Love this shade. L O V E.

The Dud: Lost in Leisure Crop Jogger ($108) in Antique Bark

The gathered waistband simply isn’t gaining traction, at least in my neck of the woods. No lie, 90% of the bottoms on my store’s markdown rack was from the On the Fly capsule. Stop trying to make it happen, lulu.

I’m sure these are comfortable as hell, but nobody needs the young millennial female/MC Hammer mashup we see here.

From the Soap Box

I’ve got a lot to say from my soap box this evening, but not much of it has to do with lululemon. It’s a bunch of griping about United Airlines and the slowpoke operation they’re running down in Lubbock, TX.

As much as I want to get it together with some relevant notes (because you’re here for highlights on cute activewear pieces and not a rambling recount of my business travel woes – that’s what IG stories and Twitter are for), my brain power is dwindling.

The ultimate haul from this evening’s little retail therapy session en route home from the airport resulted in an Energy Bra *Strappy from lululemon… and a fuck ton more from Athleta… I’ll get to that in another post. 😉
