Most days, I can’t focus for beans. Other days, I am productive beyond belief. Yesterday morning, I went to share my two latest (useful) reels here in case anyone who reads doesn’t use or follow me on IG/TikTok. After I hit “publish”, WordPress asked me if I wanted to turn my blog posts into podcasts so that people could listen along.
I thought about it. I ran 5 miles thinking about it. Truth be told I’d been batting around the idea in the back of my head for a couple months. I literally have “audio” in my full time job title, so at least I can figure out how to record a voice track. However, I had no clue where to start when it came to editing and distribution.
Then the new WP integration with Anchor.fm just showed up in my face.

Episode 1: Meet AthletiKaty
Before I even go into the list of topics I’ve come up with, the most natural place to start the series would be an introduction to how/why I began sharing content on the internet in the first place.
So, here goes nothing! The blogger’s backstory.
Where Can You Listen?
Right now, the trailer and first episode are available on the following platforms:
Anchor is supposedly in the process of distributing to Apple Podcasts, but I can’t give a firm ETA. Soon, I hope. But in the meantime… 5 platforms is a solid start!
AthletiKaty Talks About… Future Episode Ideas
Always a good idea to come up with a list of things to talk about before starting and ending a series after ONE episode. Here’s what I’ve come up with so far, and I am open to suggestions of topics you’d like me to cover in the future.
- Why I don’t run with music
- Why I started running
- Body Confidence / Self Acceptance
- Virtual Racing vs In Person
- Social Media
- Fighting the Fear of Failure
- Selective Frivolity: Why $7 Coffee is Expensive but $128 Tights Aren’t
- Not Getting Bored On a Long Run
- Motivational Mantras
- Solo Travel

So yeah. Now that the audio spaghetti has been thrown at the wall, I am hopeful that sticks. In the spirit of Buddy the Elf, I like talking! Talking is my favorite! I’m hopeful that this podcast will help you get to know the person behind the keyboard a bit more than little snippets on Instagram stories, and I’m looking forward to sharing thoughts beyond “oooh this is cute” and “ohhh that isn’t”.
AthletiKaty the PERSON is more than just a fun wardrobe and a finisher’s medal. xo
