5 Faves & a Dudlululemon

Holy smokes something crazy happened this afternoon. I walked out of the office at 5:30p and it was still LIGHT-ish outside. Is Spring really about to be around the corner? March is next week. March was last week. The time-space continuum is a funny phenomenon.

I am bummed to report that I am back home in CT after a delightful work-vacation-remote work month spent in Colorado. Took a week of snowboarding lessons, got to spend Valentine’s Day with Kyle with a decadent midday home-cooked meal of cocktail weenies, crescent rolls & champagne. About the only thing I missed while away from home was my Nespresso machine and not getting winded at the top of every flight of stairs.

On the lululemon side, I am a bit disappointed to report that I pulled my Fast & Free High-Rise Tight *Brushed Nulux out of the wash this week, and upon closer inspection, they are FUZZED UP on the outside back of the waistband. Presumably it’s from friction from my backpack when hiking in Canyonlands & Arches National Parks. (Oh yeah, we went to Moab too!)

I’ve only had those tights for a month. I love the comfort and performance, but if I’m being honest with you, I’m not thrilled with their durability.

Hello from Arches NP! Why yes that is definitely lululemon on BOTH OF US. I consider this an accomplishment.

5 Faves & a Dud: 2/23/21 Edition

Favorite #1: Hotty Hot Short High-Rise Long ($58) in Chroma Fusion Multi/Black

I have largely stayed away from the Hotty Hot line of shorts, mainly because of the way they puff out below the waistband. But if Chroma Fusion Multi doesn’t appear in other styles, I may have to cave. I am in immediate love with this print, and want it in my rotation ASAP.

Favorite #2: Wade the Waters Paddle Suit ($128)

I absolutely LOVE me a lululemon paddle suit. If I hit the water, odds are pretty damn good I’m doing much more than sitting still. There’s something about zipping one of these beauties up that makes me feel a little bit like a Bond girl.

Despite providing far more coverage than a two-piece, it still has a magical power of making me feel DAMN GOOD about myself. I already have a black one, so maybe I should snap up the red?

Honorable Mention: Waterside High Neck One Piece – I see you crushing it with the scoop back

Favorite #3: Gloss Trim Run 1/2 Zip Long Sleeve ($108) in Sunset

Can we not have this cost triple digits please and thank you?

Favorite #4: Train to Beach Top ($68)

Not a triathlete (yet) but this top makes me want to be one.

Favorite #5: AirWrap Pullover Hoodie ($108) in Pink Punch

I am beginning to have a love hate relationship with spacer constructed items. Some of my favorite purchases (Stopover Jacket, Rogue Renegade Hoodie, Full Flourish Pullover) all feature the light and awesome spacer construction but DAMN they are so susceptible to random snags it’s unbelievable.

Nonetheless, this is the first IN YOUR FACE bright color that I’ve seen in spacer in a long time (if ever) and I’m willing to bury my gripes if it means I can run around looking like a happy cozy strawberry.

The Dud: RIP June Half Marathon Plans

That’s right. Last week, Rock N’ Roll announced that the San Diego RnR weekend originally scheduled for mid June was shelved in favor for a TBD fall date. I’m starting to give up hope on race season happening in 2021. Several people I know have been vaccinated already, and according to the timeline CT put out last night, my age group should be up around mid April. So, I know that not all hope is lost.

But, it’s February 23, icy outside and my annual snowboard playtime has come to an end. I have lost my motivation to get out and run or hit the CrossFit gym again. Can someone please help me find it? I’m back from vacation, but my healthy habits seem to have gone MIA.

Is this the year that I actually go outside one day and just fucking run 26.2 miles because I have nothing else to keep me occupied?
