Many more Montreal miles this week. The Habs keep on skating by (literally) into the next round. While I could have stayed in Montreal and waited out the result of Game 5, I opted to go home for a day, so I could get a hill workout in on a specific hill at home. Sounds nuts, is true. Gotta log those Delta MQDs, amirite? You don’t earn Diamond Medallion by sitting in your hotel room.

SeaWheeze 2026 Training: Week 4 of 16

MON 5/11 • Day 22: 6mi Easy

On the Road: Montreal, QC

Only took me 2h and a whole lot of no good reasons to finally get out and have an enjoyable time 🤦‍♀️

TUE 5/12 • Day 23: REST

R2G4: Buffalo @ Montreal – Centre Bell

It is at this point in my trip that I am determined to get myself a Youppi as a memento of this year’s playoff run. I love me an unhinged mascot. Bonus points for being Canadian.

WED 5/13 • Day 24: 5mi Easy

On the Road: Montreal, QC

Nothing like a massive blob on the radar to get you cut the morning dilly dally and get out the door 😮‍💨 Back down to the canal I go!

Finally got it done and headed for the airport, where alas… I GOT A YOUPPI! He is adorable and I love him and he will now photobomb everything between now and the rest of playoffs, no matter if the Habs advance or not. Youppi’s going to the final, because I’m bringing him with me.

THU 5/14 • Day 25: Hill Repeats

Strava Title: Pesto Pizza Pickle Power Pain Cave – an homage to the visor and last night’s DTW airport pizza

BEFORE: Time to drag myself outside for hill repeats in the rain because Connecticut forgot that the sun’s allowed to come out 😩 I am such a baby on speed days

AFTER: That actually went… incredibly well 😌 Honestly, rainy runs are kind of where it’s at, as long as it’s not cold.

FRI 5/15 • Day 26: REST, but make it PIZZA FRIDAY

On the Road: Montreal, QC (AGAIN)

Early morning flight today, had to get to the arena by 2pm to park the trucks in the compound. Thankfully, it didn’t take all afternoon, so I was able to get some free time to myself to walk around and grab dinner. Headed back to my new favorite pizza spot in town, without doing a strength workout first (you’ll notice this is becoming a thing with me).

But, when the alarm goes off at 3:30a and your travel/food/work all conspire against you, sometimes it’s best just to call it when the tank is running on E.

SAT 5/16 • Day 27: REST

On the Road: Montreal, QC – R2G6: Buffalo @ Montreal

No Game Day run for me. TV trucks are cold. Reynaud’s is not fun. 0 stars do not recommend.

SUN 5/17 • Day 28: 9mi Long Run + Walk Back (b/c I can’t math when tired)

On the Road: Montreal, QC

Always risky to punt the long run to the last day of the week, but timing and weather paid off 😌

Took the late flight out b/c I knew I’d be working late the night before. I was able to sleep in, long run, AND get the most Canadian lunch ever (poutine!!) before heading home once again. Win win win.

I do not care for the “you can’t outrun a bad diet” rhetoric. According to this Libra, it’s called living a balanced lifestyle 😏

10:00a – 9 mile Long Run

2:00p – Poutine

No better way to spend a Sunday before heading back home. Merci, Montreal! 🫶🏼🇨🇦
