The Fitting Room: What’s in the Bag?

lululemonReviews

The world is pretty split on how they feel about 2/14, but I think everyone can come together to celebrate on the 15th… HAPPY 50% OFF CHOCOLATE DAY EVERYONE!

Being out of town on business and nowhere near the same zip code as my actual valentine, I made sure to take some time for a little bit of guiltless TREAT YO SELF action at lululemon. Not a bad way to spend the morning. Quite delightful, actually.

In addition to yesterday’s items, there are a few long lost items from January that I still haven’t shared. Here’s the rundown:

The Fitting Room: Lululemon 2/14/20

Sizing Notes: I’m 5’9″ and wearing a TTS 8 on top and TTS 10 on the bottom in all pieces shown.

Mastered Motion High-Rise Tight 28″ ($118) in Black

Honestly, I was wearing a skirt and figured that wasn’t going to be the best look for the sports bra photos, so these were the first ones I saw on the closest rack near the Fitting Room.

Had there not been the mesh panel along the sides, I’ve have been on these hook, line and sinker. The Everlux felt like a lightweight dream, and the rise hit perfectly.

Day Maker Full Zip Hoodie ($128) in Springtime

I need another lightweight airplane/run jacket like I need a hole in the head, so I figured if I grabbed any color but black it would help me see the jacket for what it is.

My TTS was a slim fit, and a longer length reminiscent of the original Cool Racerback. I liked, but didn’t love the look unzipped. At full zip, I could tell the zipper was going to rub against my chin. The aesthetic wasn’t worth the prospective annoyance.

Align Crop 21″ Cross Waist ($98) in Diamond Dye Stargaze Pitch Grey

Not going to lie, blame Cupid on the day, but these were an unexpected LOVE. However, so were the pretty plume angel wing High Times that I bought and never wore, because I was too afraid to get them dirty.

So they’re magic. They make it look like I have abs after eating a huge breakfast. They’re Aligns so they’re comfy AF. Wasn’t going to let history repeat itself with my dirtophobia, but I’m now considering the black ones. 🙂

For those who are curious, this colourway is a full dye job, not a print.

Wunder Train High-Rise Crop ($88) in Cassis

I’ve fielded a few questions about this tight, which has quietly landed on the scene. They’re a buttery Everlux take on a High-Rise WUP with a drawstring.

That’s it. That’s the feature. There’s the small card pocket on the inside of the waistband, but otherwise this is a no-frills no BS tight that train tight that feels amazing.

Scuba Hoodie Light Cotton Fleece ($118) in Polar Lights Blue Multi

This is the only piece I sized up in. I like a little bit of wiggle room, so this is a 10.

Yes, it’s printed on a lighter fabric. The thing is… light cotton fleece has next to no stretch in it. I tried to stretch the sleeves and make the white show, but I couldn’t. Therefore, in this case the print on white didn’t bother me.

Given that Polar Lights Blue Multi has made its arrival on WMTM, I wasn’t about to pay full price for this otherwise fun piece. I’m going to wait this one out.

And the winners are…

Breathe it In Bra ($68) in Black

Was it a PIA to get on? Honestly, yes. There are three hooks in the back,  and it was a body-contorting adventure to get all three hooks done. Once I did, though, I dug it. It’s a little out of my usual style, but I felt great in it. So, it’s mine now.

Rest Less Pullover ($88) in Garnet

I have to shout out to Felicia, one of the Eds at the Tampa Hyde Park store who steered me toward this one. I haven’t historically been into the Rest Less, but the floral print got me a little in the feels on Valentine’s Day.

Will I accept this rose-patterned top? Yes. Yes I will. <3

Note: I am linking white, because I don’t see Garnet anywhere on lulu’s website 🙁

January: the Lost Files

Welp, the first month of this year flew by faster than the front of the line to the reflective counter at a SeaWheeze Showcase.

Swiftly Speed Long Sleeve ($78)

I don’t hate the feel of the thicker new fabric, but TBH the sleeves fit completely different between the striped and solid version.

The stripes were so tight, I’m not sure I was even able to scrunch them up to get around my watches. The black was much more accommodating. Didn’t fall in love with either, so in the store they stayed.

Time to Sweat Crop ($88) in Dark Olive

At the time I liked but didn’t love… but now looking back on these photos – I must have been in a weird head space that day. I liiiike these.

New Ambition Super High Rise Tight ($79/WMTM) in White

No idea why white only made it into stores, but black was online only. Had there been black in stock, I’d have splurged no questions asked. Unfortunately the white was a bit sheer and just isn’t my style.

      1. The black definitely sold out. I somehow lucked out and picked up a pair in my store (maybe someone returned). They are amazing.

      2. Lucky! I was on the road for the entire duration of January so I tried to avoid any online ordering during that time… aka I totally missed out on these. I really did like the fit and feel, the white color just wasn’t for me.

  1. I’d love to see you try on the Align cropped tank! I have yet to find one in store though and they can’t keep them in stock online. People are going Gaga over them!

  2. What do you think of the Mastered Motion tights? Are they squat proof? You clearly don’t have any, but do they show cellulite/lumps/bumps? Thank you!!
