I know, I know. 98% of you read this post’s title and probably rolled your eyes and yelled “FAKE NEWS!” at me. While winter doesn’t seem to be on the outs if you look out the window across North America, it’s moving on out in the world of retail. What does that mean for us? ALL THE GOOD STUFF GOES ON SALE!
I love winter and cold weather gear, because a well-made piece doesn’t go out of style for years to come. A good black jacket is a good black jacket, and so forth. I’ve only fallen victim to one End of Season mega markdown (Aether Apparel <3), but there are some browser tabs open right now that I just can’t bring myself to close.
Aether Apparel
Highlights: Up to 60% off winter jackets & sweaters [Click to Shop]
While I love Aether’s aesthetic, their price points are steep. I try to limit myself to one piece a season. I recently ponied up for a System Pullover, but the discount was too deep to ignore. How deep? Usually when you see an “up to” teaser on a sale, the best deals are limited in sizes, styles and quantity. Not in this case. Of outerwear alone, the following pieces are 60% off:
Shorter Options / Street Style
- Brea Jacket –
$350, Sale Price: $140 (Top L) - Loft Jacket –
$525, Sale Price: $210 (R) - Crosby Jacket –
$695, Sale Price: $278 (Bottom L)
Go Long

$375, Sale Price: $150 - Peak Down Jacket –
$650, Sale Price: $260 - Fusion Jacket –
$675, Sale Price: $270 - Elevation Shell –
$675, Sale Price: $270 < I caved on a black one. As much as I love that lime green, I had to keep it versatile enough to match all the snow pants I already own.
If you want to take your time and thoughtfully spend (as opposed to, you know, impulse buying), the Aether sale runs through 3/4 at 11:59p PST.
Marmot
It may not be as deep as the discounts at Aether or the snowbanks in Tahoe, but Marmot is offering some awesome staples from past seasons as low as 50% off, which can result in some significant savings.

The North Face (via 6pm.com)
While TNF is having their own sale (30% off, not bad), I often find the best deals over at 6pm.com when it comes to past season gear. I’ve been telling myself I don’t need more snow pants all week. So far I’m staying strong, but it’s tough with some of the fun colors that are available in my size!
The North Face Sally Pant – $99, Sale Price: $49.50 – I have had a pair of these for 2 full seasons, and they are a perfect pant for when temps on the mountain are on the warmer side (think 30’s). This price is a steal, and 7 colors are on sale. Your luck may vary depending on your size.
As for the non-snow pants fun time, top picks include (clockwise from top left):
ThermoBall Active Jacket – $160, Sale Price: $80
- ThermoBall Vest –
$149, Sale Price: $67.05 - Boundary Triclimate Jacket –
$260, Sale Price: $130 - ThermoBall Active Vest –
$130, Sale Price: $52 - Apex Flex GTX® Disruptor Parka –
$230, Sale Price: $138
I could keep going and going, but I could be sitting here for far longer than it’s healthy to stare at a computer screen, so I will leave this here right now.
Either way, if there are a few pieces you’ve been eyeballing that were out of your price range early in the season, or you find that some of your winter gear is starting to show signs that it’s seen its last few snowflakes, now is the time to pounce!
Happy shopping!
xo & snow 🙂
