Athleta’s been running a 40% off swim sale for a few weeks, so before I headed off to Cali, you can bet your bottom dollar that I headed off to Athleta and tried on a TON of swimwear. Here are my favorites that I splurged on, along with the not-so-muches.
NOTE: All prices listed are the current sale prices.
Athleta Swim Sale: BUYS
Strappy Bikini Top ($29.99) – By far my favorite of the bunch. Super flattering in both the front and the back. No underwire, but yes to padding – so no worries if you plan to go swimming in white. Wearing an M.
Chevron High Neck Bikini Top ($38.99) – The best part of this top is that is has both padding & underwire! It comes in bra sizing, and I love that it doesn’t look like an obvious bra top made from swim fabric. The thin straps on the back are adjustable, but I didn’t feel like they did much to support. Made for some slightly interesting tan lines.
Chevron Reversible High Leg Bottom ($31.99) – I was a bit afraid to put an M on. Swimwear’s got to be tight so that you don’t lose your bottoms in the water, but if it’s tight it also creates muffin top. Tentative to try on, I was pleasantly surprised. As the name says, they’re reversible, so you can also rock the black side out if you know you’re going to be sitting in the sand 🙂
Makaha High Neck Reversible Bikini Top ($38.99) – This one I didn’t need, but I just couldn’t put it down. Olive green works for me when I get tan, so had a tough time leaving it behind.
Athleta Swim Sale: TRIES
Chevron Reversible Wrap Bikini Top ($38.99) – Looked nice in front, but the double ties & knotting made for a busy look in the back. Also, because it’s reversible, there’s no underwire for support.
Aqualuxe Stripe Bikini Top ($40.99) – The fabric has an odd sheen to it, which I wasn’t a fan of. The cups also felt a bit stiff.
Side Tie Bottom ($29.99) – Can’t believe I’m saying this, but there was actually TOO MUCH coverage in the back for me. It looked like I was wearing a pastel blue diaper, so… yeah. Nobody’s getting any photos of that one. 😛
