5 Faves & a Dud: Mask Up Yo

5 Faves & a Dudlululemon

Let’s just open this up with the one topic that’s been blowing up my DMs all day: lululemon has finally entered the mask game, and it only took several more months than anyone else, but they’re here. Lulu originally released a mask in the middle of the summer, but it was so over-engineered that it looked like a bra for your face, and was pulled from store shelves within a week after the backlash.

Back to the drawing board the team went, and now we’re here staring Thanksgiving in the face. Better late than never, I suppose. Say hello to the Double Strap Face Mask, with tons of colors available (but no basic black, go figure), for a modest $10 each.

I ordered Cassis and Collage Camo Mini Black Multi, for when I’m feeling sassy. I had to give them a try, because blogger duties. I’m definitely curious how the straps will behave when I want to wear my hair down, given that I’ve only been wearing ear loop models since the pandemic’s onset.

5 Faves & a Dud: 11/17/20 Edition

Favorite #1: Scuba Hoodie Plush ($128)

Two years ago, I got the last plush Scuba left in my local store… and promptly turned around and gave it to my Mom for Christmas. She frickin loves it, and I’ve been kicking myself ever since for not keeping it for myself.

It’s back! Hooray! All of them are my favorite color, because all of them are guaranteed to be cozy AF. If I *had* to pick? Heathered Chambray.

Favorite #2: Energy Bra ($52) in Highlight Purple

Definitely had to talk myself out of keeping this in my shopping cart while I was buying the masks. An amazingly fun want, but I sadly don’t need. The sports bra collection may be the most difficult to cull, hence why there aren’t many listed in my closet 😂

Favorite #3: Dynamic Movement Zip Hoodie ($178) in Love Red

A small part of me is glad this isn’t a Down For it All Jacket, because I already splurged on TWO of those last season. But the devilish part of me is like… YOU DON’T HAVE A DYNAMIC MOVEMENT HOODIE YET. GET ONE. Shut up, voice. You’re expensive.

Favorite #4: Align High-Rise Pant 25″ Gold ($118) in Black

Ever-so-slight paint job on a tight that I already have two pairs of? Sign me up, boss. Here for a tiny bit of gold sass.

Favorite #5: Break a Trail Super High-Rise Tight 28″ ($118) in Black

Loving the details on these, so I’m adding a photo of Brier Rose so you can tell. But when it comes to dirt and how I pretty much live my life, black all the way.

The Dud: Beyond the Studio Jogger ($118) in Feather Pink

Willing to bet that most of us can dig up childhood photos from the 80’s (yeah I’m old, ok) and find a photo of us running around an outfit that consists of a pastel paint job graphic tee and pants that look a little something like…

Gimme Gimme More

The tights weren’t the only one that got a little embellishment. Other colors in this limited edition capsule include French Press in the Tanks & Crops, and Deep Fuschia Tights.

While we’re at it, Deep Fuschia is rolling, well… DEEP this week. I’m not mad at it!

  1. Not sure how I feel about the behind the head straps on the mask, but I got one to try plus a few more for Stocking stuffers. My boyfriend is a nurse and wears a mask all day. This might be a nice break for his ears when he’s not at work.

  2. I have a mask with head straps and I love it, so I’m excited to try these. I wanted 4 of the colors, but talked myself down to 2. It seemed silly to buy multiple masks when I don’t know if I’ll like them yet, but I knew they’d sell out before I could try them out… Hopefully, if people like them, they will come back in stock.

  3. I think these are going to be good gifts so I ordered a bunch. Like 8. Haha. Really hoping they don’t suck!

  4. Glad to read that someone else has trouble culling their sports bra collection. I think I have about 40 at the moment the vast majority of them energy bras. Of course they have been collected over the last 7 or so years.

  5. I absolutely love the gold details and would buy the collection if they were actually stitched on. This warning isn’t cool: “Over time the shiny details will take on their own well-loved look.” I’m sure they will crack and fade. Pass.
