We’re officially 18 days out from SeaWheeze’s return, and the Early Access drop went live in the lululemon app today. In the words of Taylor Swift, it’s been a long time coming.

You can tell I’m rusty, because I almost forgot about the drop until minutes before it happened, and didn’t think to snoop around the app using search terms before the countdown revealed the in-app shop page. I was boxed out of several items within seconds of it going live. Oh well.

This year’s early drop featured 4 main colorways, with an exciting nod toward RAINBOW REFLECTIVE (iykyk) in some of the details.

• Flower Splash Multi – the main print we’ve seen in all the marketing materials. I haven’t loved it, and can’t put my finger exactly on why. The orange and warm olive green mixed with some cooler tones, maybe?
• Mint Meadow – Here for it, hoping to see more
• Tangerine Whip – Also here for it, would love to see a cropped tank
• Midnight Eclipse – Is it black? Is it brown? Is it some deep earth situation? My phone made it look brown, so I skipped entirely. Now wondering if I missed an opportunity.

Sculpt Tank Top – Flower Splash Multi

Safe design for athletes who prefer a full shirt. I used to train in Sculpts quite often until I realized nobody gives a flying fck what I wear, and I was more comfortable in a tight crop.

Fast and Free High-Rise Tight 25″ 5 Pocket – Flower Splash Multi

Easy skip for me, the only pair of the updated tights/crops that I have don’t stay put and started to unravel pretty early. I’ve stayed away since the update was released in 2023. Also, this is a lot of ink printed on a lighter nulux.

Fast and Free High-Rise Short 6″ 5 Pocket – Flower Splash Multi

An 8″ inseam is my preference, is the print my favorite, no. But I’d have gotten these for the plot, had they not sold out instantly.

Energy Bra Graphic – Midnight Eclipse

I need another black(ish) EB like I need a hole in the head. While the rainbow reflective detail’s fun, no one would ever see it. I rarely run in an Energy on its own.

Swift Speed Graphic Cropped Tank – Midnight Eclipse

NGL, Midnight Eclipse as a color messes with my eyes. Depending on the device I’m looking at, it oscillates between black, super dark mauve, and brown. At first look on my iPhone, it looked to be an earthy brown, which gave me pause. Looking at it on my laptop a few hours later… now I’m wondering if I should have tried to score one?

This was an almost… until I saw the left sleeve with the generic lululemon branding on it. Same detail that turned me off of the Hotty Hots.

Translucent Hooded Jacket

I like this one, but I already have the Brooks Canopy jacket in a similar style and color. My NYC Marathon 2025 Finisher’s jacket is also a bright green. In an effort to be mindful and not buy the same stuff different year, I passed on this.

I like the small details throughout (esp the rainbow reflective), in comparison to some of the other offerings.

Adapted State Graphic Track Jacket

Two colors, Mint Meadow and Midnight Eclipse. This time, ME looked black instead of brown. An another almost but not quite… they had me on Mint Meadow until the giant RUN YOGA PARTY on the back. I do NOT need another black jacket, but again… it sold out so it didn’t matter whether I wanted it or not.

Sat down until the feeling went away. I wanted to, but my overflowing sports bra drawers said please no please no our group is full!

NGL… I like that white long sleeve. Hoping there’s a similar women’s option at the showcase store. Loving the Tangerine Whip shorts for the guys.

Accessories

Cute, but nothing jumped out at me.

At the end of the day, I am simultaneously surprised (and not at all) that I did not buy anything. I’ve done my time spending INSANE amounts on SeaWheeze merch drops on a moment’s notice. Now that years have passed, I can look back at said merch piles and pick out a handful of pieces that I wear constantly, and several more that still have tags on them.

I can’t believe that I leave for the race two weeks from tomorrow. Training has gone B- AT BEST this year. I’ve hardly done strength. Work and weather took it out of me. My friend who was going to run it with me had to pull out, so I’m flying SeaWheeze weekend solo, which I haven’t done since 2017. The course has changed, so I’m not 100% sure what to expect.

I’m still looking forward to it. Ready or not, seawall here I come!
