What do you get when you combine a random vacation day on Tuesday and 3 margaritas by 5pm? THIS BLOG POST!
I’m halfway across the country on a bit a short squeeze of a timeline because concert tickets, so without further ado I’m gonna run-on sentence to this week’s top 5. I’ve spent a TON of time in fitting rooms in these last few days, so when I get a chance to recover from Foals tonight (hollaaa) there will be a treasure trove of photos to share later on this week.
5 Faves & a Dud: 4/30/19 Edition
Fave #1: Athleta Contender Opal Capri ($79)
Ok so UNICORN CROPS WHAT?! I tried them on this morning, a little sheer in a full bend, otherwise totally good to wear around. They only come in crop length, so I’ll likely order Tall just so they’re a bit longer for me and the hems don’t cut off in the mid-calf area for me. Size note: I’m a lulu 10 and comfortable in an M here.
Fave #2: Lululemon Swiftly Breeze Tank Relaxed Fit ($58) in dark olive
2/2 on faves I actually tried on today! I grabbed a TTS 8 off the rack this morning, and actually wish I’d gone for the 6. I brought so much into said fitting room that I felt bad asking the Ed working for a different size, so all I can say is 1) I like this shirt 2) I’d size down if buying it b/c it has extra room in the armipts and 3) I didn’t buy it because I bought one of last week’s faves instead (the Dance Studio Jogger, OMG LOVE), and when you’re trying to take an overnight trip with a backpack, decisions had to be made.
Ugh that ‘sentence’ was so long, I got tired reading it.
Fave #3: Athleta Momentum Skort ($44) in black
Three for three – watch out ESPN I’m only 27 short of going 30 for 30 on items in this blog post that I’ve tried on in the last few days! Loved the look of this skort, wearing an M and it fit perfectly, plus it’s on sale in very m any colors. At risk of sounding basic blogger… OMG super cute.
Fave #4: Lululemon Get Going Dress ($118)
I know I know I now I said that the Picnic Play was “all you need is one dress” last week, but that’s on the dressy-ish side. For any casual event, brunch or backyard party this summer, you probably need the Get Going Dress too.
Fave #5: SUPER MEGA DISCOUNTED EASTER CANDY
I’ve purchased enough Cadbury Mini Eggs this week to last myself until July. Or next week. Depends on the mood I’m in. This is the bag I’m actively annihilating while I write this post.
The Dud
Lululemon Wanderer Culotte ($88)
Do I need to explain? They’re culottes. I prefer to leave the culotte/gaucho mistakes I’ve made back in 2005 where they belong.
I hate to leave this post on such a short note, but Foals are calling – what to do with the 5-7 minutes I just gave back to your Tuesday evening because there’s far less to read tonight?
TACO TUESDAY! The opening paragraph of this post probably gave away the fact that I’ve already had a little bit of a head start.
¡Olé!

What pants are you wearing in the Fave 2 pics?
Those would be the Athleta Headlands Hybrid Cargo Tight, my #1 go-to that I pretty much have to stop myself from wearing daily, so people think I own other pants.
If you’re a petite size 2 or a 16, they’re on sale for $67: https://shopstyle.it/l/2UMb – otherwise you may be able to find a rogue pair in store or on Poshmark.
Ha Mini Eggs are the BEST! Totally deserve a place in the top 5. Conceptually I like the dresses but at a petite 5″3 the bust and waist land wrong and then I need 6-9 inches hemmed….sigh That’s where Athleta has it going on having petite/tall/plus in a wide variety of items.
You’re spot on with the petite/tall bonus sizes at Athleta because I have the totally opposite problem that you have. A ton of my height is in my torso, so a lot of time, the waist on dresses hits mid-rib for me and it looks a little bit off. One size does NOT fit all 🙈
The opal Capri look awesome! I think the dud pants are kinda odd and don’t flatter anybody!
I tried the ‘slimmer’ leg Wanderer Crop on earlier this week… I can only imagine how roomy the culottes are given how the crops felt!
Culottes should be rebranded for what they really are: leg skirts 🤪
I actually have the Get Going dress from last year, and I’ve still never worn it! Maybe I’ll finally bust it out for Mother’s Day. I’ve never traveled with it because I’m always afraid that it’ll get those awful crease lines from being packed up in a suitcase, so it just hangs in my closet never to be worn.
When it comes to packing longer items, try rolling it up! This dress seems like a good candidate for it, seeing that it doesn’t flare out too much 😊
Oooh, I love those opal crops!! I’m looking for more crops with a side pocket, since I’ve starting doing more weights at the gym. I’ve been looking for a fun print. I’ll have to give these a whirl.
I was super impressed with how the fabric felt – I am SO wary of white. It felt buttery but thick at the same time. I’m about to place my order for a pair right now 🥳
I got the shorts version of your fave #1! I am so not a run-in-tights person, unless it is 44 degrees or below. (Yes, that’s accurate down to the degree.) Wandered into Athleta yesterday and could not resist purchasing them.
I did a double take when I saw the print on Tuesday. It was toward the back of the store near the girls section, so I was super afraid it was going to be for the tweenage set instead of big kids like me. You don’t know how excited I was to realize they were adult sizing 😂
