5 Faves & a Dud: Just Like Riding a Bike

Let’s play a fun game called “try to pick 5 items out of upload that aren’t bike shorts” … Good lucking f*ck. 🚲 That’s all there seems to be this week. But alas, I’m refusing to be trendy at this point in time, and bring to you 5 favorites that are not the bottom half of your first grade wardrobe.

5 Faves & a Dud: 5/5/20 Edition

Favorite #1: Goal Smasher Jacket ($148) in Carnation Red

Today marks Day 58 without purchasing any new lululemon, but again here I am screaming “I WANT THIS” into the silent abyss that is my living room.

I’ve been doing my best to keep up on my running (hell, I went 16 miles in one shot this weekend) and one thing I’ve noticed is that this spring has been an especially windy one. Anything that looks like it’s a windbreaker looks so tempting to me at this point in time, because WIND BLOWS and it annoys me to no end.

Favorite #2: Energy Bra ($52) in Breezy

Just in case you missed out on Sea Frost last year! I like this color, despite its name and my aforementioned comments re: wind. Coincidence.

Favorite #3: Define Jacket ($118) in Wee Are From Space Nimbus Battleship

Only took me about 7 years, but I’ve finally come around on Define Jackets. This colorway is a classic and feels like it comes around with a fair amount of regularity, but I’m dodging all the bike shorts. Featuring this like a NEW new.

Favorite #4: Speed Up Short High-Rise 2.5″ ($58) in Carnation Red

My high-rise Speed Shorts are 8/10 the first pair I grab if I’m wearing to shorts to CrossFit, because, tall girl problems. I don’t have a problem with shorts showing my legs off and giving me freedom to squat to depth, but I do appreciate having them come up a little bit higher than my jeans did in 2005.

Related: for anyone new to the blog/lulu who’s curious about how the subtle varieties in Speed/Up/HR/Long compare, give Lululemon’s Speed (Up) Shorts, Explained a read.

Favorite #5: Speed Up Short Long *4″ Updated Fit ($58) in Cassis

Ever since I tried on the Cassis Wunder Trains in February, a color that I wouldn’t normally clamor over has been consistently grabbing my attention in a scroll.

I keep coming back to these, pausing to admire for a few whenever they pop up, so here they are to round out this week’s top 5.

The Dud: Clear Intention Shirt ($98) in Black

The name of the piece declares that its intentions are clear, but… I don’t get it. Intentions not clear. Cruel in the fashion sense maybe.

Cruel Intentions? Reese Witherspoon? Ryan Philippe? Has anyone bothered to check in and realize that their kids are about a bazillion years old now? I’m a bazillion years old now. We’re all a bazillion years old now, because quarantine has lasted a bazillion years.

Anything Else?

We also got a first look at the latest swim collection this spring, and I scream you scream why is my swimsuit the same color as chocolate ice cream? Really. See for yourself.

Just Like Riding a Bike

WHY WAS THIS ENTIRE UPLOAD ALL ABOUT BIKE SHORTS?! TBH I couldn’t bring myself to finish this post last night, because when I opened up the What’s New page, my immediate reaction to all the bike shorts in the face was UGH I can’t even.

However, given that quarantine is going to last into the summer months, it may be time for the pants to take a shelf and give in to shorts. Lulu’s literally got your rear end covered, in so many ways. Let’s see if I can keep them straight.

Ah, dammit. My coffee is over. Time to get on with the day because yes… I saw a shiny object and am totally finishing this post on Wednesday morning. Heh.
