5 Faves & a Dud: Lululemon’s 8/15/17 Upload

5 Faves & a Dudlululemon

It hasn’t even been 48 hours since touching down home from Seawheeze, yet here we are scrolling through Tuesday evening like A SUPER FUN HALF MARATHON RACE WEEKEND didn’t just happen. Vacation is over, and it’s time to drag my feet back into the real world.

5 Faves & a Dud – Lululemon’s 8/15/17 Upload

Favorite #1: Contour Jacket ($118) in black

Ready for an annoying tune in your head?

Nulu is movin’ on up from the Align Pant and into the form of the Contour Jacket. It’s like the Define Jacket and Stride Jacket of the older lulu days had a love child. I like the slim fit (a la Define), but also appreciate the higher collar (a la Stride). Also, check out that zipper detail down the back. Unusual, but subtle. I like it.

After this weekend’s Vancouver retail bonanaza, I absolutely do NOT need to purchase this jacket, but I really am anxious to find on in person and try it on. I may be hook, line and sinker.

Favorite #2: In the Studio Scarf ($98) in black

With the BDL > ATL > DEN > SLC > YVR > LAX > DTW > BDL jaunt behind me, I’ve got airplanes and activewear pieces that would be useful for travel on the brain again. This scarf makes me think of this one meme…

Dress_Pockets_MEME.png

But this time it’s a scarf instead of a dress. To carry stuff around when you’re flying in yoga pants sans pockets (I’m looking at you, Align & Wunder Under Pants)? This piece has got my vote.

I can imagine this keeps the hands warm when you need to have your hands out of your gloves to do something on your phone in the cold weather. I can’t believe I’m talking about cold weather right now. Gross.

Favorite #3: Speed Up Short ($58) and/or Speed Up Short *Long ($58) in amalfi blue

Tried on the Speed Ups for the first in in Vancouver this weekend, and survey says that I like them. If you’re interested in an incredibly thorough comparison of the new Speed Ups vs the OG Speeds, Agent Athletica has got you covered.

As for my quick 2-cent opinion? I like them, therefore I feel completely comfortable starting to move ahead in life with the Speed Ups in this most beautiful color.

The website photos do not do amalfi blue justice. It is one of the most beautifully brilliant blues I’ve seen in a very long time, and in YVR I walked out of the Robson Street lulu with a Shine & Stride Tank and a Swiftly Tech SS in this color. I saw it, and was hooked after a millisecond.

Favorite #4: Sunshine Coast Long Sleeve ($98) in fatigue green

I first picked up a Sunshine Coast LS sweater in December of 2015. At the time, I tried an olive color, but because fall had given way to winter, I opted for heathered black instead.

The model in this round of photos must be a bit short, because it definitely wasn’t long enough to cover my rear end. I’ve owned this piece for 2 winters now, and have not stopped wearing it. Slight pilling in the armpits, but nothing that would deter me from purchasing a second.

Favorite #5: Sculpt Tank II *SE ($58)

I’m flat out being partial to the Sculpt II this evening because I PRed SeaWheeze while wearing one. I like the fact that the back was switched up to show off the details of the sports bra layer underneath, as opposed to concealing it.

The Dud: Adore Your Core Tight ($128)

Might need to change the name on these. I do not adore. too much mesh, too high up the leg. Nah.

What Else?

  • The Wild Tank is back! Wondering if the sneak of bali breeze in here means it’s coming back again?
  • Warm Down Jogger, I see you over there looking cozy AF.
  • I’ve seen the Round Trip Jacket in person twice now, and both times I’ve avoided trying it on, because I know I’ll cave. I just know it.
  • Can anyone give me a good reason I don’t need the All Set Mini Bucket in Navy? Didn’t think so.

Oh crap. Laptop battery about to sputter out. Too lazy to dig out the power cord. Gotta run!

This mid-month upload seems more promising than many mid-cycle uploads have been so far this year. Anyone see any new fall pieces they’re dying to try on?

  1. Nothing. Agree that amalfi blue is gorgeous though. I saw the tank you bought in person this past weekend, and was in awe of the vibrancy. The teal green swiftly ss is just as vibrant.

  2. Nothing for me. I stopped by a store and found the colours (murky) and cuts (boxy) to be too masculine. The contour jacket and Sunshine Coast are both nice pieces and definitely more feminine.

I still check upload every Tuesday though. Still looking for special peices. Wraps, merino items and leg warmers more specifically.
