5 Faves & a Dud: Lululemon’s 8/1/17 Upload

5 Faves & a Dudlululemon

Let’s just get the biggest news of upload out in the open right out of the gate.

It’s baaaacccckkk… and anyone trying to sell these for a bunch of money on the BST market just swore up a storm seeing them readily available again. The Fast As Light Muscle Tank, which earned itself unicorn status among many when it first came out last year, has returned!

We’ve got 3 options (above, L-R): heathered viola, heathered deep navy and the coveted tiger space dye black white.

5 Faves & a Dud – 8/1/17 Upload

Favorite #1: Invigorate Bra ($52) in black currant

This close to Seawheeze, I *really* don’t need to be buying any new lulu… but this beauty got me as far as hitting ‘add to cart’. Fingers crossed that I can find one in Canada in a couple weeks, because exchange rate. Hands down, this is my no questions asked favorite piece of this week’s upload.

Favorite #2: Circuit Breaker Skirt II ($68) in pelt

It took me a few years of wearing lululemon to give in to their skirts. The early ones had a bit too many ruffles to fit in with my personal style. When the Circuit Breaker was released last year, I liked the flat look in front, with just a little bit of flair in the back. In Vancouver last year, I snagged my first in true red, and found another in black marked down to $29 while out in Portland earlier this year.

Want to know where Circuit Breaker Skirts (the long ones, anyway) fit in very well? The golf course.

See? Here’s me wearing a black Circuit Breaker Skirt last weekend. Shorts built in, great for when your skirt flies up on the follow-through.

Favorite #3: Vinyasa Scarf ($48) in heathered herringbone heathered slate black

August is a bit early, but it’s a winter staple. Surprised how/why I don’t own one.

Favorite #4: Speed Up Short *Long ($58) in black

At first glance, I had to squint to figure out what the F is different between the Speed Short and the Speed Up Short. In the Speed UP‘s, it seems as the front/side seam on the legs doesn’t line up with the arc of the back panel like it does on the OG Speeds.

On the Speed Up *Longs, it’s the same deal, but all in all seems like a Speed Short with just a bit more fabric. Maybe shorts that would be able to prevent chub rub? Hm, a girl can dream until she heads into a fitting room and does some high knees to test her hypothesis.

Favorite #5: Wunder Under Hi-Rise 7/8 Tight ($98) in midnight navy

Same deal as with the Vinyasa Scarf… it’s not in season quite yet, but they’re a staple that you’ll be all over like white on rice this fall, when you just don’t quite feel like wearing jeans, and don’t want to forgo the deep blue look with your cute flannel & boots.

Favorite #6: Swiftly Tech Long Sleeve Crew ($78) in night tide/black

I don’t know how I missed it the first scroll around, but this one’s gorgeous too. Too lazy to undo the work I already did, so… hello #6.

I am so happy that lululemon made the decision a couple years back to heather colors with black, and not always white. Drool. Sorry not sorry for being on a mega blue/green/teal kick lately.

The Dud: Light on Your Toes Sock ($18) in cherry blossom pink

STAHP. Bubblegum McStopitalready. There are so many better things you could spend your $18 on. Like, anything else but these.

Ehhh…nything Else?

I want that Invigorate Bra. I *really* want that black currant Invigorate Bra. Anyone bouncing off the walls thanks to the return to the Fast As Light Muscle Tank? Do tell. 🙂

  1. Great golf photo! I broke down today and bought some fall colored CRBii (otherwise known as Lulu’s summer collection). Boysenberry, Jaded, and Galaxy Grey. I bought the Razzle one in June because “color” and it turns out my short body works well in the new CRB. Surprised myself. I might have to get the tiger space dye fast muscle tank you listed as #1

    1. Thanks! Always experimenting with ways to get crafty with the GoPro 🙂

I’ll be surprised if the tiger space dye Fast As Light lasts more than a couple of days online!

  2. I’m not a fan of the Fast tank- especially not when it’s finally starting to cool off now. I truly don’t get how they decide when to sell what… I’m at 4 Vinyasas and counting, and am hunting for the perfect red. I don’t have a problem, I swear….

  3. So I feel like I missed a memo here, are all the Speed Up items replacing the Speed items? No more speed shorts & speed tights? I’m eager to try the Speed Up Long shorts, but I fear they’ll ride up on my large thighs just like the Run TImes do. :/

    1. I’m not sure. I didn’t even *think* of that as a possibility until I saw Agent Athletica’s IG story and it planted the evil seed in my head.

While I always complain about chub rub & Speed shorts, suddenly I’m feeling very attached to mine. They better not screw with a crowd favorite.

However, the demise of the original CRB and the super popular No Limits Tank means that no design seems to be safe anymore, so I won’t hold my breath thinking “they wouldn’t!”… because they’ve proven that they totally would.

      1. Agreed, I still can’t get on board with the new CRB. I don’t mind the change in coverage, but I don’t like the new edging, it draws too much attention. I have one of the new version and just keep scouring eBay for older versions when I need a new color. I just can’t bring myself to buy more of the II!

      2. It’s been a full year, and I have not even put a single CRB2 on since my first try on.

365 days of being stubborn and holding strong. I’ve been doing the same as you, just snagging additional colors from Poshmark.

  4. I picked up the fast as light tank in the white tiger space dye and the purple. I’m not sure if this style will make me look like a boy in front (no boobs here), but it’s a cute tank, and I think I’ll get use out of it in NC.

Otherwise, I really liked the Our Sport tank. It’s annoying they keep putting pics of the tanks tied up, so I can’t totally see how it would look the way the majority of people wear it. If the FAL tank doesn’t work out, I’ll look into that one.
