5 Faves & a Dudlululemon

Happy Valentine’s Day, world! I love you. Really, though. If you’re reading this, you’re awesome and I thank you for giving me a reason to get all goofy on the internet all the time. You make it (somewhat) socially acceptable, and I love you for it. So, thanks.

Seeing that I’m not exactly rejecting an onslaught of male suitors on the reg, I celebrated the holiday by wearing incredibly pink outfits to work & the gym, and eating the green out of the red, white & green leftover Christmas M&Ms, so now I have leftover Valentine M&Ms.

Also, there’s less than an hour before taco chicken is finished in the slow cooker. Therefore, it’s also Tequila & Taco Tuesday. Plus I managed to Rx the WOD at CrossFit. Today was a good day, except for the finding out that some nameless human broke my snow globe golf ball on a tee paperweight while I was out of the office last week.

It’s one of those things with the ball is in water, and you have to balance the ball on the tee. It’s insanely hard. Mine had the golf ball sitting on the tee since 2012. I come back and there was a big divot broken out of the base AND the ball was knocked off. Not cool.

Amazon brought me some nice gifts, though. A Prime Surprise Sweets Dash Button, some shampoo & conditioner and a Lego man in a banana suit. Hooray!

Meet Banana Man 😀

On the flip side, lululemon just uploaded such un-amazing stuff that I’d rather sit here with a margarita in hand watching Parks & Recreation on Netflix, instead of pretend that I love that they’ve got going on on the ‘What’s New‘ page.

5 Faves & a Dud – 2/14/17 Upload

Favorite #1: Swiftly Tech LS Crew ($78) in dark olive/black

I wish it were October, because I’m picturing this top with skinny jeans and riding boots, like any basic female worth her puffy vest would, even though it’s meant for sweaty time.

Favorite #2: Sole Training 7/8 Tight ($118) in black

Long story short, the mesh paneling on the side is slimming, as are the seams on the rear end. Side pockets and a higher rise are also a plus in my book. Hooray, pants!

Favorite #3: Lost in Pace Skirt (Tall) ($68) in black

I’m sorry, I know this one isn’t new this week, but I’m scraping the bottom of the barrel here. If I see one more black & white pattern or drab color uploaded, I am going to scream. So, given how much I loved my Circuit Breaker Skirt from last summer for golfing, I’m going to make another rare skirt shoutout. The less ruffles the better, and this skirt makes me want to play tennis. When all this stupid snow and ice melts.

Favorite #4: Define Jacket ($118) in coco pique black white

Yes, I just lamented about black & white patterns and now I’m turning around and choosing a black & white mix for next on the list. Hypocrisy on my face! I admit it.

Anyhow, my coco pique black white vinyasa scarf I grabbed last year is by the far the one I wear the most, so I just imagine myself with that scarf and the above jacket on, sitting in an airplane seat under a blanket and just being a coco pique black white blob of PERSON. Teehee.

Favorite #5: Align Pant II ($98) in midnight navy

Another thing I can’t wait to come out of the laundry this winter? Both of my pairs of Align Pants. So, despite the pilling issues they keep giving me, I just can’t say no to wearing them all the time. Because who’s really getting that close to look? Let’s be real for a minute. I’ve said it a million times and I’ll say it once more, they’re a wonderful layering piece for all skirtsy and dressy and bootsy winter needs.

The Dud: Going Places Hooded Jacket ($148) in heathered inkwell

One one hand, I do enjoy winter outfits with a little bit of extra room that hide the fact that I’ve been feeling a little fluffy lately. However, when they overcompensate and allow a bit too much extra room, you get something that completely takes away all of the wearer’s shape, and that’s not ok with me. Same reason the Both Ways Bomber earned last week’s dishonor of the week. Sorry, jacket! Dud.

In short, I’m not paying too much attention to upload tonight. Nothing is catching my eye, so I’m going to focus on what really matters – the fact that I accidentally knocked over my margarita while taking said taco chicken out of the slow cooker and now I’ve got to go mix up another one.

img_1070As evidence of silly Valentines outfits, here are my swolemate Jen and I in the aftermath of my decision to plop down on top of her mid-pushups, all while twinning in neon pink Swiftlies, of course.

SALUD, LOVES! <3

  1. So glad I loaded up on color in past years because this is a long black and white mashed up prints – icebreaker, fizz, splatter jacquard it’s all the same. Neon pink swiftly rocks your valentine workout. I went for paler pink wamo camo. So happy I didn’t sell them off back in the days when I thought the color would last forever

    1. Thanks! Would you believe that my first Swiftly ever was a neon pink that I didn’t end up liking… only to return it and buy this one a year later. Tastes change over time, and I’m glad I have a bunch of colors too while lulu rides this drab spell out (I hope)
