5 Faves & a Dud: Whiteout Expresss

5 Faves & a Dudlululemon

Internet friends, today’s is going to be a short one. Having gone on my Utah jaunt this past weekend, I am physically and emotionally exhausted. I spent last night on a Boeing 757, and went straight to work upon landing today. The icing on the cake of sleep deprivation is that said night on a 757 was spent alternating between sleeping and choking back tears all the way from SLC to ATL to CT because of some personal stuff that has also gone down in the last 24 hours.

I needed to nap at 4:30p today, because I couldn’t function anymore. Woke up at 8pm on the couch, and one hour later am already feeling like it’s time for bed again. Let’s get through these 5 faves right quick so that I can go back to being sad about… him. You know you’re not yourself when you don’t even have the appetite to finish off an 8oz cup of soup for lunch.

Enough about me. I’m tired and sad and will get over it in due time, that time just isn’tĀ rightĀ now. As for the gym clothes?

One big takeaway from this week’s upload – the Store Availability feature the lululemon app’s been talking up for MONTHS has finally arrived!Ā This is going to be a huge gas money and time saver for me.

Really, my face hurts from being so sleepy. I need to HIBERNATE.

5 Faves & a Dud – 5/10/16 Upload

Favorite #1: Trinity TankĀ ($58) inĀ lakeside blue

At first thought, I was expecting the front to look just like the Wild Tank. It’s a different cut in front, and I like it. Wondering how supportive it is, though? Who cares. Katy likey.

Favorite #2: Free to Be Bra *TrinityĀ ($48)Ā in heathered slate/grapefruit

The trinity train is rolling on to the next station along the line, the bra! Given that it’s part of the Free to Be family you know it’s not going to be supportive, however it is going to be crazy cute. I want this one!

Favorite #3: Free to Be Bra *WildĀ ($48) in space dye camo seal grey deep coal/flash light

Is it extremely similar to the trinity bra I just posted above? Yes. Do you think I care? I don’t.

Favorite #4: Wunder Short 5″ *Full-On Luon ($48) inĀ white

No, I’m not Stacie Tovar or Brooke Wells. However, for some reason I’m digging the white shorts. I’d never be able to pull them off given how pale/dirt-prone I am, but hey, I can still say they’re pretty. About the only place I can be near these shorts and be sure they won’t get dirty is this blog.

These are also available in black in full-on luxtreme, but WHO WANTS THAT? A lot of you, probably. Just not me.

Favorite #5: Cool RacerbackĀ ($42) inĀ bali breeze

This one’s a layup. Bali breeze returns after a popular run last year. It didn’t hurt that BB ended up perfectly matching Nike’s hyper jade, aka the Lauren Fisher Metcon 1’s. I get a ton of wear out of this color. Happy to see it return for those who may have missed out last summer.

The Dud: High Times Pant (Wing Mesh) *Full-On Luxtreme ($98) inĀ deep navy

I mean, the good part (I guess) is that I actually had to think about which piece was bad enough to be the Dud this week? Some week’s it’s so painfully obvious, and that’s what makes it fun.

Alas, with these, I am concerned for us ladies who like styles akin to the Light as Air (RIP) and Namastay Put Hipsters, I have a feeling that the mesh on these goes up higher than our underwear. Not worth the trouble or discomfort of a whale tail for the day. Strike one. Plus, they’re fullux. Strike two. The mesh panel looks black, not navy. Strike three, you’re out.

I’m on the fence of what to order from the top 3 today. On one hand, self pity says buy all the things! On the other hand, I just went on vacation and should probably proceed with caution before opening up the next Amex statement.

Wah.

  1. So sorry to hear that you’ve had a rough week!! On the upside you’re an amazing person and nothing that happened takes anything away from that. Feel better soon and treat yourself to all the things in the meantime šŸ™‚

  2. Aww feel better! I always convince myself that lululemon is still cheaper that therapy. Hope tomorrow is a better day

  3. I hate that you feel low šŸ™ Sometimes life sucks. This, too, shall pass, sweet Katy. Be strong and know that the webosphere just took a collective sigh on your behalf. You rock, and don’t let anyone make you believe otherwise… xo

  4. Sounds like your sad over a guy and that sucks šŸ™ Better now than later though, when you are more invested in him (or married!). The man for you is the one that would never want to make you upset like that. It’s hard though. I don’t miss dating at all for that very reason. On a Lulu note, I love lakeside blue, and want to buy everything in it! Most of it doesn’t fit me right, but I will soldier on and try it all!!

  5. aww. hang in there.

nothing for me in this upload, but i might go to the store and try on the bali breeze crb.

lately though, my yoga tank jam has been the swiftly tech racerbacks. its been SO HOT here Tx that I need something paper thin, esp for hot yoga.

  6. As an early 30s single and dating girl, I know your pain. As others have said , you’re awesome and whatever is going on with him will work itself out. The right one will come along (I tell myself the same thing all the time).

On the lulu front, I bought myself the jungle free to be trinity bra. I’m small up top, so cute bras like this work out perfectly for me. It’s lulu’s way of making me feel better about myself when I start feeling bad about the serious lack of cleavage!

  7. I hope you can take some ‘me time’ after the work trip and emotional exhaustion. I’m sorry to hear life is giving you a hard time right now!

Bought the Coast Wrap in Alberta Lake even though it’s officially too warm here to wear. The colour is too gorgeous to pass up and I think it’ll be the perfect wrap for a long flight!

  8. Hang in there, Katy. This is one of my favorite quotes: ā€œNo boy is worth crying over, and the one who is won’t make you cry.ā€

  9. Thanks for posting even though you’re going through personal things – I know it can be hard. Please take care of yourself!

In terms of Lulu stuff, I bought the Run Times shorts in bali breeze.

  10. As someone who has been going through a horrible time recently (on the career side, not the personal), I definitely have not been a fan of hearing how “it will all work out” (particularly because you don’t feel like it will!!!). What I will say, because I am coming to believe it, is you gotta just push through. Cry it out, feel like crap, do what you need to do to feel better, and some days you will, and some you won’t. But like anything else in life, you push through and find yourself on the other side feeling all the better for it.

I will echo that you are an awesome person, and the one thing never worth losing when going through hard times is your sense of self.

  11. so sorry to hear you had a bad week :'( sending you good vibes and happiness your way šŸ™‚
    Just remember, you`re amazing!!!!

  12. Hang in there. I remember a very similar time for me. My then fiance had moved to CA and I was still on the east coast. We were trying to maintain a long distance relationship. I went out to visit for a week and I had to fly the red eye home and turn right around and go manage a GNC store the next morning. The whole day was spent being so emotionally ridiculous from lack of sleep, missing him, and dealing with the usually jerk head customers. I listened to Beck’s Sea Change album on repeat the whole way home and then proceeded to crash for what seemed like a whole day. And then listened to Sea Change some more, just seemed to fit. I survived and you will too, sucks bad though.

  13. I hope things will seem brighter & less stinging with each day. I’ve too dealt with my fair share of dating heartache & also lost my mom to cancer. Grief is a b****. You will find joy again. Allow your heart to feel a little happiness here & there along the way.

Your blog brings me such joy! I lurk weekly & am so thankful for your sense of humor as it often brights my day just when I need it! *hugs*
