Coming home from vacation is the worst. Paying with miles so your flight only costs $11 and you end up with the first class upgrade with delicious dinner and free vodka all the way home helps soften the blow, but waking up with nothing but the unfortunate realization that the cubicle awaits really is the pits. (So are run-on sentences. Sorry.)
Now that I’ve quite literally gotten my head out of the clouds, time to get back to business! Anyone else beginning to mildly freak out over the upcoming CrossFit Open, despite the fact that there’s no chance of advancing past the Open anyway? Just me? Cool.

Favorite #1: Rain-On Train-On Pullover ($128) in boom juice
How can one not love this? Bright happy color, flattering fit, water-repellent. I like water-repellent.
I’ll admit that it’s a bit of a buzkill to have this available online only – if anyone orders the Rain-On Train on Pullover, please let us all know how it fits! 🙂
Favorite #2: Cool Racerback ($42) in porcelaine
Do I need it? No. Do I want it? Absof*ckinglutely. Porcelaine is one of those blues that will just look good with everything. I should buy this if only to color compare to Pipe Dream, right? Not a stretch for justification… not at all.
Favorite #3: Run: Speed Short *4-way Stretch ($54) in shifted horizon red grape black/red grape
I’ll be honest and admit that I have not been as on top of the lulu game as I should be lately. I apologize if these aren’t new this week and I’m showcasing something half of you already own. However…
They’re new to me and made me go ‘squee!’ so here the Speeds are in spot number three.
Rhymes = busted.
Favorite #4: Energy Bra ($48) in dandy digie multi/boom juice
The pop of bright colors that lulu’s been dropping these past 2 weeks has been incredibly welcome. CT is about as gray and drab as it gets right now, and this color scheme with the bright pink straps just makes me happy.
Favorite #5: Bring It Backbend Sweater ($128) in black
This one boils down to personal preference. I’ve really been digging the open back casual wear lately, so the Bring it Backbend takes the last piece of cake this week! That Energy Bra up above sure would look cute poking out, am I right? Also must state the obvious = thumbholes.
The Dud: Run: Speed Short *4-way Stretch ($54) in checker blooms multi/minty pink
Nobody listened to Tim Gunn on these. No, this color scheme does not ‘work’, the minty pink waistband is a minty pink buzzkill. Shorts, get on the ivivva rack where you belong.
HK has that pullover in stock. I’m pretty much a solid 6 except in tighter fitting jackets etc. I felt like a sausage. For me it was a size up item. But I left it in the store. The ruffles were odd, I didn’t like the look or feel enough to want to come home with it, or even bother to try the 8.
Doh! I’ll agree that it does look pretty tight in the photos. That’s a shame it didn’t live up to expectation in real life, it looks so flattering in the stock photos.
Then again, I guess that’s what models in stock photos are paid to do – make things look good.
I will admit to not trying on the 8, and maybe I would have a different opinion if I did. After the disappointment of the 6 and the fact that I had been there awhile and was starting to feel Lulu overkill, plus was a touch anxious as I was between flight, I just had no desire to give it another try. Maybe if I’m in HK again but that won’t be until April at the earliest.

*random thoughts* I googled Seawheeze last night and saw the recent post on Facebook that shorts seemed to be getting ready to be sent out. Did you make travel plans yet?? I booked the Fairmont Vancouver and through random searching last sleepless night discovered it’s *haunted* LOL it’s my first Seawheeze… AND first half marathon. Wondering if you’re already getting excited jitters. I’ve been saving coins for 6months+ for my “Seawheeze merch shopping fund” too Lulu hasn’t been so exciting to me lately so this is what I have to look forward to! 🙂
My brain has been so swamped lately, I actually FORGOT about the whole “we get fun shorts in the Spring” part of Seawheeze!
While I haven’t booked a flight yet, my friend and I opted to go the AirBNB route. Many of the hotels nearby were either sold out or super expensive, so we were able to lock in a place near the convention center for a reasonable price. 🙂
You’re right… I should really start preparing my wallet for the damage that’s going to be done… in AUGUST. It will be that bad.
When I saw the speeds uploaded on the HK site last week, I took a screenshot of it on my phone which I proceeded to send to my friends, telling them it looked like period blood stains. It sold out in sizes 10 and 12, btw.

The rain pullover isn’t online only. I tried it on yesterday in CA to see if I ordered the right size. It’s a snug TTS. My normal size works but if I wasn’t a 12 and I could size up I probably would.
