What We Love: (S)TEALing the Spotlight

What We Love

Whoop! This week’s featuring a much more refreshing color scheme as far as my own personal tastes go. I’m happy to see blue featured so heavily in recent weeks, and the incorporation of more teal! I’ve been wearing the crap out of my Bali Breeze CRB ever since I bought it, and am excited to the same color family coming out to play.

The great thing about the darker blue hues is that they are still attention-grabbing, but aren’t going to be showing off burpee dirt. After losing my mind about the Pistachio CRB, I’m always afraid to wear it to CrossFit out of fear it touches the ground. What a drama queen I am. Let’s just hope that we don’t see any more stuff coming out in Alarming. My annoyance increases on a weekly basis as it keeps on getting uploaded.

The shade of teal? Yes. The rest of this? No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No.

Normally I’m not a mesh fan, but on my longer runs lately I’ve actually not minded the Inspires and the Seawheeze Passion Crops (Thanks, reader Lizz!) with the mesh on the back. Feels nice! That said, while I’d normally pass over a style like this, they caught my eye. Then I read that they’re full-on Luxtreme. There goes that idea.WWL2

Woooooo! These are my favorites colored cyber stripe that I’ve seen so far! Lululemon, can you please oh please come out with High Times in this pattern… WITH STRIPES THAT ALIGN? Pretty please with rainbow sprinkles AND a cherry on top? It’s kind of sad that stripe alignment is still an issue. Hardly any styles have lined up in the past 6 months. I think the navy cyber stripe High Times may have been an exception to the unfortunate new rule.WWL3 copy

I could take it, I could leave it. In the name of trying to save $42 and not increase the tank top pile in size even MORE, I’m going to leave it now with a wish that it magically ends up on WMTM… which it likely won’t, because it’s not ugly. Also, it’s not even in the US yet. So, that kind of helps too.WWL3

Alright Define-a-holics… take a number and order quick. If this sells like the Sapphire Blue Daily Practice Jacket, you’re going to want to order first and think about it later.WWL4 copy

Halloween is technically just a few weeks away. Do you know what you’re dressing up as? A 1990’s fitness star? Sweet. I’ll step aside then, because you need these. I’ll be wearing my Top Gun/Maverick dress & Wunder Unders again this year. Now, to get myself invited to a Halloween Party…WWL4

Aw, Denim Blue Scuba II I feel bad for you. (Hey look, I rhymed!) With the heathered Sapphire Blue Scuba III dropping earlier this week, I’m not sure how much love this piece is going to get. Doh.

  1. I haven’t tried full-on luxtreme so I would be interested to know why you you don’t like it. I don’t want to buy it and then find it’s too hot, doesn’t breathe etc.

    1. Hi Lauren! To combat the whole sheerness fiasco of 2013, lulu developed “full-on” versions of both luon & luxtreme that were a lot thicker and tighter knit than their predecessors. While I feel like full-on luon was a success, fullux has been a disappointment for me. While it feels smooth and slippery to touch, the tighter knit isn’t as stretchy and forgiving.

When you move, fullux generally slides around until you’re sweaty enough for it to stick to you and stay in place. A good pair of workout pants is supposed to move WITH you, not cause you to hike them up or shimmy them down all the time. Unfortunately, a good amount of lulu’s printed bottoms are full-on luxtreme.

  2. Speaking of blues, I am so bummed I missed out on the sapphire blue Go the Distance jacket. Might still get it in black or the gray mix but would then have to purchase other sapphire to compensate.

    1. It was really tough for me to leave that one behind! I saw it in store before it was uploaded and instantly fell in love. <3 Didn't think to would sell out so fast!

      1. Whoa, I didn’t know it had made it to any stores! Lulu BK didn’t mention having seen it, but one of the SoHo stores told me it had been online only.

      2. Unfortunately SoHo was yanking your chain. šŸ™ I saw it in store both here in CT and in Nashville a few weeks ago!
